Senior Fashion Show: Le Petit Prince

Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novela Le Petit Prince, my senior collection focuses on children's costumes with influence from contemporary children's fashion.  This process involved six months of design iteration, and three more months of refinement to final product.  I utilized hand sketches and renderings, fashion forecasting research through WGSN, concept research using Pinterest and fashion history texts, mood board creation in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, technical flats made in Adobe Illustrator, technical packages using Microsoft Excel and OPTITEX, patterns drafted by hand and in OPTITEX, and finally sewing it all together.  In the final construction process, I headed a team of five seamstresses to delegate tasks and effectively manage time up to the show.

It was an honor to work with my models and my colleagues to put this all together and bring my designs to life.  As Le Petit Prince is my favorite story, and something that has inspired several of my previous works in the past, I hope to continually revisit this project and improve upon my design process to create more costumes and creations inspired by Saint-Exupéry's work in the future.
